About Us

Rick Smith and Kim Millerare the core of Panorama Studios, supported by a network of artists working in every area from music production to stop-motion animation, audio recording, illustration and script writing. Whatever your needs, we have a team of creative professionals who can bring your vision to life.

Rick Smith
Rick Smith is the founder of Panorama Studios. His career spans 30 years in professional media production, starting as a photographer in Florida in the early 1970’s. Rick started experimenting with 8mm films while still in high school. His early fascination with motion pictures continues to this day.

For over 20 years, Rick was the director of Visual Education Productions (VEP), a media production department based at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California. This unique department produced and distributed videos and other media throughout the United States and many foreign countries. Not only did they produce the materials, but they successfully marketed many millions of dollars of these products through their own marketing expertise; Rick was in charge of both production and marketing. Some of these programs were broadcast on National Public Television and on The History Channel. They won dozens of awards and were recognized as an industry leader

In 1998 Rick founded Panorama Studios in order to focus on his personal creative interests and to indulge his entrepreneurial spirit. Since that time, Panorama Studios has continually grown and produced an expanding range of topics, both for Panorama Studios’ own commercial goals and for clients.

Kim Miller
Kim Miller is a videographer, photographer, video editor and DVD author for Panorama Studios, and serves a large number of media clients in these areas. Ms. Miller has worked on dozens of videos in the roles of scriptwriter, videographer and editor. She has also authored over 100 DVDs, often creating sophisticated and visually stimulating multi-level motion menus. She recently served as script and continuity supervisor, and then editor, on a feature movie, for which she also created the DVD, including English sub-titles.

Kim is a detail-oriented person with bountiful ideas and the energy to make them happen. She loves working with clients to refine their production goals and then follow through to a completed project that always exceeds their expectations.
